Interior Design, in its nascence, was a ‘poor cousin’ of architecture. While home interiors were done by ‘decorators’, architects designed the ‘interior architecture’ of large offices for a quick name or fast returns (construction of an interior takes one-tenth the time taken to construct a building).

Buildings were ‘permanent’, ‘visible’, ‘defined cityscape’, and, essentially, more talked about. Interiors were just about putting together services and jazzing them up!
