Darvocet should be kept at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Record the quantity of medication consumed from each fresh bottle. You should be alert if anybody is abusing propoxyphene by using it inappropriately or without a prescription as it is an addictive substance.
What occurs if I don't take a dose?
You might not be on a dosage regimen because Darvocet is used as needed. Take the missing dosage as soon as you remember if you take the medication on a regular basis. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. To make up for a missed dose, do not take more medication.
If I take too much, what happens?
Get immediate medical help or dial 1-800-222-1222 for poison help. Darvocet overdoses can be lethal.
Extreme sleepiness, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, pinpoint or dilated pupils, confusion, seizure (convulsions), cold and clammy skin, blue lips, a weak pulse, a slow or uneven heartbeat, shallow breathing, fainting, or breathing that stops are some overdose symptoms.
What must I abstain from?
Your thinking or reactions may be affected by Darvocet. If you drive or do anything else that calls for alertness, use caution. Before taking any additional cold, allergy, pain, or sleep medications, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Many combination medications contain acetaminophen (often referred to as "APAP"). You might take too much acetaminophen if you combine some medications. To find out if a medication contains acetaminophen or APAP, check the label. Alcohol use can exacerbate certain of Darvocet's adverse effects.
